The Rise of the Awakening Consumer

    Hi All,

Soccket (http://www.soccket.com/) is a company that manufactures soccer balls. What makes these soccer balls specials is that they where developed by 2 Harvard Graduates and every time you play with them they accumulate energy (in an electrical form). The balls can then subsequently be used as a socket and provide electricity in places where there is none (20% of the world). Several companies are paring with them and doing a good job at marketing their efforts.

Alma a top Hispanic Agency based in Miami has created an initiative with State Farms that has spiked their insurance policy sales.

How to connect with Hispanics online

Winning in the Hispanic market is not a mistery. Russell Lilley an UNILEVER big timer shares his secrets and helps us understand how to connect with them in the digital space

      1. Actively participate in the online conversation. We do this by engaging in conversations Latinas are having online in social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube around topics that we know – beauty and food. Once there, we speak to Latinas in Spanish and more importantly, provide compelling content and tips that can help them in their everyday lives.
      2. Create exclusive content. We work with industry leading experts to develop relevant and timely content for our consumers. By offering exclusive tips and information we attract our consumers’ attention, which then keeps them coming back for more.
      3. Socialize our information online and offline. Lastly, in connecting our brands with the Hispanic community, we share our information with Latinas both online and offline via multiple touch points, including mass media, digital, social media, in store events across the U.S. – all of which provide content and brand engagement.

Being an Artist in the 21st Century

I believe that Agencies as organizations have as one of their primary objectives trying to be Avant Garde. It is a difficult task in an age when groundbreaking concepts and innovative people come and go, when tastes and trends are changing much faster than in the pre-internet era. We are living in a time where becoming an "artist" is much more accessible to people, who, twenty years ago would never stand a chance of having an artistic career. A lot more people today are able to express themselves as talented and unique artists, compared to the past when it would only be achievable for a certain elite only. Today’s technology has triggered a new era in the arts, an “Artist’s Revolution”, which is driven by the power of the individual.

David Terranova is a visual artist that worked in several Ad Agencies before becoming a full time artist in NYC. I encourage seeing some of his work and thoughts on breaking through the clutter.

    Enjoy,

    Ferran Adria Innovating Pepsi Foods

This weekend I was in NYC and I got a chance to see a film about the Ferran Adria, the chef of "El Bulli" a restaurant in the north coast of Spain. Ferran is known for his innovation and 'science like' approach to cuisine, to the point were El Bulli is closed 6 month of the year as he researched different cooking techniques and technological advancement implementations. El Bulli has been named best restaurant by 'Restaurant Magazine' since 2002, it lost in 2008 to one of his former students who started a separate restaurant. About a month ago Ferran Adria and Pepsi Co announced a partnership to develop a line of healthier snacks with natural preservatives. It will be interesting to see how Ferran will have an influence on the direction many of the Pepsi brands are taking.

Two weeks ago, PepsiCo CEO and Chairman Indra Nooyi spent time at El Bulli where the chef - who has been described as the best in the world for his mastery of molecular gastronomy - hosted a workshop proposing new flavor ideas, details of which were kept mum.

Ferran will be working with Frito Lay and Tropicana, it has also been announced that he will be creating a line of new 'snackable' foods, breakfast options and convenience items with a special focus on healthier choices.

Green Festival -- Let's Green Out our Clients

The Green Festival is organized through several cities in the USA and at different times of the year. It is a Green Event were participants get exposure about their green practices, are able to network and speak to leaders in different industries and learn from others green practices. There will be a lot of exposure to media and ground breaking technology. The company that organizes the event has a serious and rigorous screening process that will automatically disqualify many of our clients. We can suggest this as an idea to those clients of ours who struggle and are not seen as having much corporate social responsibility, sustainable governance or sustainable practices. Oh yes! whatever the client is, maybe they have a strong commitment to the community and not the environment, they could still qualify. The are 2 aspects the corporations will be judged on: the Environmental Sustainability and the Social Justice.

This is the decade were we will see the rise of the awakening consumer,

    LETS GET ON BOARD!

Please email me for more information (I have decks about the project and contacts within the event) and make sure to visit
