To celebrate the launch of the fifth season of AMC’s hit TV series ‘Mad Men’, Newsweek has ‘retro-fied’ its ads in the upcoming special ‘Mad Men’ retro-modern issue.

Gridiron League is a collection of idealized NFL insignias that pay tribute to each team's history and geography in a period-specific aesthetic that glorifies the Vince Lombardi-era over the Cold-Activated-era. This is not an exercise in nostalgia but an interpretation of the league's founding principles through the symbols that we, as football fans, identify with most.
Many NFL franchises — Patriots, Broncos, Rams, Lions — have updated their uniforms and logos to a swooshed-out, dropped-shadowed, and more commercial-ready image, ignoring a good deal of their team's heritage and the original rough-and-tumble character that the league stood for. The mud, blood, and grass stains that smeared across the varsity-style lettering and colors of jerseys past have been bleached out for iPads and HD screens, and new colors — lime greens, teals, and “Black For Black’s Sake” — introduced arbitrarily for the sake of selling more jerseys and attracting newer audiences.
pretty cool logos. Nice find.
Whether you love them or hate them, it doesn't really matter. Players like them and fans buy them. Also we have learned with past college uniform changes that this helps with recruitment. So check them out and see when your team (if they are champions) is gonna sport them.

A great documentary that everyone in this industry should watch, especially those that bring brands to retail. Provides great commentary on the state of brands and advertising. Some truly insightful and hilarious moments. Check it out!
According to Morgan "He's not selling out, he's buying in". Has some merit to it.

A quick "pat on the back" to the Gatorade team. At 2:27 you'll spot the Kevin Durant Standee that was created for an in-store sweepstakes promotion. Wonder how the kid fit that in his car...
The site includes a showcase of existing designs, a how-to guide for demonstrators, a graphic toolkit for designers, and a platform for the community to suggest ideas for designs. The project was created in less than 24 hours October 14-15 weekend by a team of designers, programmers, artists, and demonstrators in San Francisco as part of three concurrent creative hackathons across the country to support Occupy Together.

Tinker Hatfield and NIKE finally did it. And for a good cause. These are going to go for a fortune with only 1,500 pairs being auctioned for the M J Fox Foundation. They sent out press kits inviting sneaker outlets to tonight's big announcement and also showed a BTTF "lost" scene with shoes feat. Doc and Kevin Durant promoting the shoe. They even engineered them to light up for 5 hours, no auto lacing system... Yet
These are awesome. I miss these illustrations.

If you like Skateboard art Disposable is a really good book that covers the history.
I borrowed this from Hohmie and read from front to back. It's better than a coffee table book
