The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it. ~George Bernard Shaw

Anything Else?

My Story:

I'm a semi-pro culturalist. That's a stiff-shirted way of saying I like to travel and see any kind of people, places, things, trends, and events in the good ol' US of A. Which comes in handy when doing what we do and communicating authentically to the diverse sub-cultures inside each region and state. Except Alaskans, Hawaiians, and Dakot-ers. Eff 'em. Those are the 4 states I haven't stayed in yet.

First Bing, now Yahoo, you CANNNNOT stop Pinterest

Pinterest became the 4th largest organic traffic source in the world:

Hey autism, you just got hacked.

It started with the "account guy" showing his HP tablet to a friend, whose son has autism, which turned into a hackathon across software disciplines, which turned into a donation campaign to get tablets into schools, which turned into filming one of the students in a documentary short film that made its way to Cannes.

360 integration? More like a 720. An inspiring, powerful, motivational, and emotional communication...

And all threaded through the voice and vision of HP.

Your FB Posts and tweets are superficial and shallow.

Enter Storify. If you haven't seen it yet, it's just beginning to gather steam after being listed as "Hot" in mid-2011. Pull every social platform you have, write, and post an in-depth experience on topics you love. Brands are telling their stories as well.

    Is this the next instagram?

If you haven't seen yet - we've been playing with it in the SoHo office for a few weeks - very addictive.

...If you think of this as a beta, or not quite 1.0, it has some potential. Needs more artistic filtering as well:

Branding with sound- Domino's in Holland delivery scooters now with human audio

To help safety on delivery routes with so many cyclists, make people smile, and just straight up viral, Domino's fitted their scooters with a secret ingredient - human sound.

As they scoot to their destination, the box in back makes sounds like when you used to play with your Hot Wheels as a kid:

"When the delivery person honks it sound like ‘lekker lekker’, meaning 'tasty tasty'. A stationary engine sound like ‘Domino’s, domino’s, dododomino’s, domino’s’ and accelerating sound like ‘mmmmmmmmmmm tasty mmmmmmmmm domino’s mmmmmmmmmm pizza"

Watch Peter Weyland's Historic 2023 TED Talk

Ideas worth spreading in the future world. A pretty awesome use of branded entertainment embedded inside TED seamlessly. You can't stop Guy Pearce. He could play the Queen.

Doesn't hurt to have Ridley Scott direct and revive his 1984 ad feel either...

How Dr. Seuss was 75 years ahead of advertising

Art driving commerce. The ads of Dr. Seuss.

They're also amazing precursors to his books, and how he earned a living during the great depression: FLIT, HollySugar, and Shaefer beer among favorites:

Merge Alert! Zynga and Hasbro are blending offline and online gaming.

Important to watch given the migration of conversation over to social gaming. It's a more intimate and personal experience to chat while playing than either FB or Twitter can provide, and now with even more familiar brand names. Not to mention the offline versions of Mafia Wars and the 'Villes completing the circle.
