Tracy-Locke invents first ever cola-infused condiment to prove that hot dogs are #BetterWithPepsi
Over the past couple years Pepsi has made it a priority to prove that food is #BetterWithPepsi. First it was burgers. Then it was pizza. This year it was hot dogs. So when Pepsi tasked Tracy-Locke to show the nation that hot dogs go #BetterWithPepsi just in time for the biggest hot dog consumption day of the year, July 4th, we knew there was only one solution — put the Pepsi ON the hot dog…
We partnered with Pepsi and The Culinary Institute of America to create Pepsi Colachup – a first of it’s kind condiment made specifically for hot dogs. And to everyone’s surprise, the sweet, slightly citrusy Pepsi flavor paired perfectly with franks. Then we got the biggest name in the hot dog game — hot dog eating champion, Joey Chestnut — to endorse our condiment.
Needless to say, the controversial condiment took the internet by storm and made a massive cultural splash. Even though Colachup was only available at 4 baseball stadiums across the country, everyone was talking about it and we garnered more than 6 billion impressions. We got coverage on national news, in trade publications and food and beverage outlets, and of course, everyone on social media was throwing in their two cents about our unique creation.
After months of hard work and collaboration with our clients and agency partners, we couldn’t be more excited to introduce the world to Pepsi Colachup.
